This Pretty Much Sums up the Reason "They" Hate Us

Hezbollah TV:

"But the message here is plain: Despite all the talk among the liberal intelligentsia about the inherent worth of every culture, Hezbollah recognizes that if there is a choice between Western culture and Islamic fundamentalism, terrorists will lose out. Their only choice is to attempt to counter with fear, intimidation, and conspiracy theories. "

It was Okay if Clinton Did It for the Same Reasons

CNN - Clinton: Iraq has abused its last chance - December 16, 1998

Personally, I Don't really Care About Arab Outrage, or Even Arabia for that Matter

Boortz: May 6, 2004:

"Oh..and one note about the 'Arab outrage:' It's quite interesting how some in the world are shocked at the sight of prisoners being humiliated in photos, but had no problem dancing in the street when 3,000 Americans were slaughtered by Islamic terrorists on 9/11. Those responsible for taking these photos and mistreating the prisoners will be brought to justice. Why wasn't there the same concern when Saddam was raping, torturing and murdering people in that very same prison?"

What are they teaching in Journalism School?

FUll BOTW:

"We thought this was just a New York Times tic, but get a load of the lead paragraph in this editorial from Salt Lake City's Deseret News:

In Salt Lake County, the jail continues to suffer from chronic overcrowding despite the fact the crime rate has declined. It's no wonder, then, that the county commissioned an expert to study the problem and recommend solutions. Something has to be out of whack."

The lying left theme

So I've written before about how the left feels so strongly about their misguided mechanations that it will resort to lying to effectuate their goals: global warming horror stories are made up to force us to toe the leftist line on the environment, poor-rich class warfare is fomented with lies to push the democratic agenda, sKerry brought out a group of hippie draft-dodging leftists to lie about horrors in vietnam (even though these guys never even joined the services) to push the administrations to stop the war in vietnam. Like I've said before, if you have to exaggerate and lie about your policies to get them adopted, how can they be seen as valid in a democratoc society?

Now more news of the lying left. The pictures of UK troops torturing arab prisoners were falsified. In America, I'd call fabrication of such photos treason. That would mean the bullet and an example to be made.

If you want to protest the war, that is fine, your right, maybe even something you feel duty bound to do. But, if you must lie to get your message across, maybe your message isn't so important to begin with.

Rome Police and Prosecutors Suck

Yahoo! News - Black Ga. Teen's Sex Sentence Overturned:

Story to follow: First of all, I was the focus of the Rome Police Department when I was still in College. Stupid redneck cops arrested me for marijuana possession even though no marijuana was ever recovered. The problem was that my attorney advised me that the Rome juries liked to convict and the prospect of spending a year in JAIL!!!!!! scared the shit out of my 19 year old white ass. Nonetheless, I like that Marcus has been absolved of the child molestation charge. As to the sttutory rape charge, sorry Marcus, you're a bright kid and should know that statutory means absolute, no defense, no excuses. You're a man, and you screwed a (willing) minor. So take your punishment and stay away from red-necked chicks in the future.

ATLANTA - The Georgia Supreme Court on Monday threw out a black high school football star's conviction and 10-year prison sentence for having sex with an underage white girl a case that led to allegations of racism and heavy-handed prosecution.

Marcus Dixon, 19, was released on his own recognizance later Monday after 15 months behind bars.
'Marcus is thrilled to be with his family, and we're thrilled to have him out of jail,' said his attorney, David Balser, after Dixon was freed by a Floyd County judge from the jail in Rome, in northwest Georgia.
The court ruled 4-3 that Dixon, who was 18 at the time, should have been prosecuted solely on the lesser charge of misdemeanor statutory rape rather than aggravated child molestation.
Dixon had claimed he was targeted by prosecutors because he is black and the girl, who was 15 at the time, is white. His case drew protests from the NAACP.
Dixon was acquitted of rape but found guilty of aggravated child molestation, which carries a mandatory 10-year sentence, and statutory rape. The high court let stand the statutory rape conviction, punishable by up to a year behind bars more time than Dixon served.
Ken Jones, Dixon's legal guardian, said he called Dixon after hearing about the decision. 'Marcus was crying, I was crying,' he said. 'We were both doing the dance.'
Prosecutor Leigh Patterson said she would ask the Supreme Court to reconsider its ruling.
Dixon was an honor student and star athlete at Pepperell High School in Rome, and his scholarship to Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn., was revoked after his arrest.

Angry Left

FCC Swamped With Oprah Indecency Complaints - May 4, 2004

I recommend that my readers check out some of the emails received by the FCC. One hears about the angry left but......here's the proof. Note: you need to read about two or three emails agead in the list.

It's kind of funny how angry leftists get when they feel that the law is being unfairly enforced and they happen to be the victims. As a brilliant attorney, I could make the case that Oprah's indecency differs from that of Howard Stern in that his speech is DESIGNED to be prurient. Therein lies the difference....unless we make the jump that Harpo Entertainment is just a cleverly hidden porno outfit. Doubt it.

What a Bunch of Phonies!

"He has been surprised at the criticism his departure has prompted. 'If I had known there would be this kind of public storm, I would not have left that [commission] meeting,' Kerrey says. 'If I had this thing to do over again, I wouldn't leave.'":

Can anyone really take this 911 Commission seriously? If it's so godamned important to pull the President away from his duties as CEO of the United States, then you'd better damned well stay for the whole meeting. I mean, what a bunch of fucking phonies. Push, push, push for the meeting, make a big stink about the President refusing to grant you an audience, and then, when he relents due to the pressure, you disrespect the Office and his time by leaving early. Phony, asshat Democrats!

Ouch!

Kerry 'Unfit to be Commander-in-Chief', Say Former Military Colleagues -- 05/03/2004

Will it finally become obvious that sKerry is a fake and opportunistic egomaniac truly unfit to serve as President. The Dems really seem to have allowed their hatred of Bush II to lull them into nominating a clown. At least Dean could have run with some honor. Crazed and maniacal honor.
